My Neighborhood: Jersey City, New Jersey

Vajaah resides in the heart of Jersey City, a densely populated and diverse demographic, situated across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan. Three previous generations of her family were funeral directors and she was raised deeply steeped in city politics and culture. An avid fan of Jersey City Together and city block associations, Vajaah is settling into hyper local advocacy.

Professional Background: Technology Executive

Vajaah is an award winning web developer, employed as the Director of Strategy for The Web Development Group. At the agency, she assists think-tanks, universities and governments to solve business problems with data-driven, web based solutions.

Ministry Experience: Leadership & Speaking

Vajaah began speaking formally in 2000 through her local church. She is a 2002 alumni of the Youth Theological Initiative, Candler School of Theology. In 2006 she was an Undergraduate Scholar for the Fund for Theological Education. From 2006-2010 Vajaah served as President of the international youth council of the A.M.E. Zion Church. Vajaah was ordained as Methodist Clergy in October 2009. Vajaah preaches, teaches and facilitates on subjects related to faith and web technology. Vajaah is a member of Rivers of Living Water NY / NJ UCC, a radically inclusive ministry.
